Emir Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein - 100 mil

Centering on the portrait of Emir Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein, this stamp serves as a foundational symbol of the Hashemite monarchy and the formalization of the Transjordanian state. The Emir is depicted in traditional Arab headdress (the kaffiyeh and agal), a deliberate iconographic choice that reinforces the cultural authenticity and desert heritage of the ruling family while projecting an image of statesman-like authority. The framing incorporates classical Islamic architectural motifs and geometric patterns, bridging the gap between historical regional aesthetics and the standardized formats of international postal communication. This issue highlights the theme of nation-building and the establishment of a distinct Jordanian institutional identity separate from the broader Ottoman or British mandatory administrative visuals.
